Terms

Updated March 28, 2026

These terms govern consumer orders placed through the Sopu customer site. They apply to browsing, account-based checkout, card payments, delivery and pickup orders, and customer-service issues related to orders placed through the service.

Please read these terms before placing an order. By confirming and paying for an order, you enter into a binding agreement with a payment obligation.

If outside service partners are involved in your workflow, they should be named clearly before these terms go live.

How Ordering Works

  • you can browse the menu without signing in, but checkout requires a signed-in customer account with a verified phone number
  • before you place an order, the service shows the main characteristics of the products, your selected order type, the final price, and any delivery fee shown in checkout
  • orders are placed through the checkout flow of the service and must be paid with the payment method currently accepted in checkout
  • before the final payment-confirmation step, the service or payment flow should make clear that the customer is entering into an order with a payment obligation
  • an order becomes binding once Sopu accepts it through the service after successful checkout and payment verification
  • availability may change in real time, and Sopu may need to reject or adjust an order if an item is unavailable, outside the delivery area, or affected by a technical or operational issue

Customer Accounts And Verified Checkout

  • the current customer service may require a customer account and a verified phone number before checkout can be completed
  • you must provide accurate and up-to-date account, contact, and delivery information
  • you are responsible for activity carried out through your account or sign-in method unless the issue was caused by Sopu or a third-party provider acting on Sopu's behalf
  • if you believe your account, email access, phone-verification flow, or login session has been misused, contact Sopu without delay

Prices And Payment

  • prices shown in the service are the prices applicable at the time of ordering unless a clear pricing error is evident
  • the checkout summary shows the order subtotal, any delivery fee, and the total amount payable before payment
  • the current customer checkout supports card payments processed through Stripe
  • the current customer checkout does not state a separate payment-method surcharge for the Stripe card payment flow
  • if strong customer authentication or other bank/payment-provider verification is required, the customer must complete that step in order to finish payment
  • Sopu does not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes
  • if the customer chooses to save a card through Stripe, card storage and sensitive card data handling are performed by Stripe or the relevant payment provider, while Sopu only receives limited reference information needed for the service
  • if a payment fails or is reversed, Sopu may cancel the related order

Order Confirmation

After an order is accepted, the customer should receive order confirmation in a durable form that can be saved for later reference.

Refunds, Failed Payments, And Payment Corrections

  • if payment is collected but the order cannot be accepted or fulfilled, Sopu should refund the amount owed without undue delay using the original payment method unless another lawful method is agreed with the customer
  • if the customer is legally entitled to a refund under mandatory consumer law, the refund should be made to the same payment method used for the purchase unless the customer expressly agrees otherwise
  • if an order is incorrect, defective, missing items, or otherwise not as agreed, Sopu will assess the appropriate remedy under mandatory consumer law, which may include a refund, price reduction, replacement, or other correction
  • payment disputes may also involve the customer's card issuer or payment provider under the applicable payment-service and consumer-protection rules

Delivery, Pickup, And Availability

  • delivery is available only to addresses within Sopu's current delivery area, which is checked by address lookup and delivery-zone validation in the service
  • pickup availability, estimated preparation times, and delivery estimates are shown as guidance only and may change due to demand, weather, traffic, or operational issues
  • if Sopu cannot fulfil an accepted order, Sopu will contact you using the details connected to the order and arrange an appropriate refund or other remedy required by law

Product Information, Allergens, And Availability

Sopu aims to present the main characteristics of menu items in the service before you order. This includes product names, prices, and any mandatory food information that must be available before a distance sale.

  • allergen and intolerance information should be checked carefully before ordering

Right Of Withdrawal And Cancellations

Under Finnish consumer rules, the normal 14-day distance-selling withdrawal right does not apply in the same way to all online purchases. Prepared meals and foodstuffs that spoil quickly or are otherwise perishable typically do not have the standard withdrawal right once they fall within the statutory exception.

  • if the law does not provide a right of withdrawal for the order, the order cannot be cancelled on that basis after acceptance
  • if you need to request a cancellation before preparation begins or before an order is accepted, contact Sopu immediately; Sopu will review the request according to the order status and applicable law
  • where mandatory consumer law gives you a right to cancel, those statutory rights always prevail over these terms

Complaints, Refunds, And Liability

  • if your order is missing items, incorrect, defective, or otherwise not as agreed, contact Sopu without delay at [Add customer-service email] or [Add customer-service phone]
  • refunds, replacements, or other remedies are handled according to the nature of the issue and mandatory consumer law
  • Sopu is not liable for indirect or consequential losses except where liability cannot be excluded under mandatory law
  • Sopu is not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside its reasonable control, such as major technical outages, force majeure events, or third-party service failures

Applicable Law And Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the mandatory consumer laws of Finland. Disputes should first be addressed directly with Sopu.

  • consumers in Finland may contact Consumer Advisory Services for assistance before escalating a dispute
  • disputes may also be referred to the Consumer Disputes Board
  • the former EU Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued on July 20, 2025 and is no longer available

Changes To These Terms

Sopu may update these terms from time to time. Any updated version should be published on the customer site and will apply to future orders from the time the updated terms are made available, unless mandatory law requires a different approach.
